Works great and a really good price. Doesn't have a laser to show where the reading is taken from and 10 inches is the maximum distance from target area. My son checked accuracy against a much more expensive infrared thermometer and the Actron came very close to the right temperature. This winter I am using this to check insulation of our home.

I purchased it about six months ago. I use it regularly to determine if my non-Teflon coated skillet or fry pan is hot enough to start cooking. It prevents me from adding food to a cold pan causing it to stick.

The thermometer is easy to use and effective. I was very surprised actually at the huge variation in temperatures in my home, especially around electronic equipment.

Bought this item for measuring food temps when cooking. Battery lasts well. Seems accurate although I have really yet to test it with anything well calibrated. Only problem I encountered is the temp range it is sensitive to, not wide enough for some of the applications (barbecue, brick oven). otherwise, good purchase.

When I purchased this device, I wasn't sure if it would work or not. It works!! I play around with it all the time. It's very useful.
I was at the computer store the other day selecting a laptop, I used it to measure the heat levels around the laptop computer.
Really neat toy!
