Battery Life January 27, 2010 Greg W. Clark (Galena,Ill. USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I received my thermometer it worked great.I had it for one day and the battery went dead.If you're going to ship a product,Maybe you should leave the battery out of the item sold.I recommend this product for beginners in the paranormal field.
Actron CP7875 Pocket Therm Infrared Thermometer January 27, 2010 M. Caudill (KY USA) I operate a Meals on Wheels Program in a rural area where food temps are critical. I found the subject thermometer to be accurate within + or - of 5 degrees at close range. The size is small enough for pocket or purse. The price is low enough that each driver on different routes can carry one. I am quite pleased with this purchase.
SOO much smaller than it looks January 23, 2010 Sarah Stogsdill (Somerset , Kentucky, USA) Absolutely love this little thing! Allthough I was expecting a bit bigger item but. hey it still works! but there is not seen laser but works perfecty lol i carry mine around in my purse. I bought it for ghost hunting but havent got to use it for sutch as of yet.
Item is sent with a dead battery January 22, 2010 utalice (USA) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I can't do a full review at this time as the unit was sent with a dead battery. I don't understand why they bother to send the unit with a battery at all. ?? In the instructions, it states that "The battery should be replaced immediately with a CR2032 lithium cell."
Why bother to put one in at all if we also have to order a battery along with the unit?
A Great Thermometer January 20, 2010 Sean Paradis (New Hampshire, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Actron CP7875 Infrared Thermometer gives you what you would expect for about $30. The thermometer easily fits in the palm of your hand, and is ergonomic. There are two buttons on the thermometer. One button to take the temperature, and another to change the degrees from F to C. When you press the temperature button, the thermometer automatically begins to take readings. If you let go of the button, the reading stops, and displays the temperature for 3 seconds.
If you press and hold the button down, the readings will continue, updating the temperature. In the top right corner of the screen, the highest recorder temperature is recorded. The range of the readings is from -27 degrees F, to 428 degrees F. The reason it reaches such a high temp is that the thermometer was made for taking the temp of engines, and heating elements.
Another bonus of the thermometer is that the screen has a backlight to it, so you can read the screen at night. That's always a bonus for me when my meters are readable at night. If you have to use a flashlight on it, sometimes a glare is cast, making it harder to read. There are only two flaws I can find with this thermometer. One, the battery, and two, it doesn't have a laser.
The problem I have with the battery is that the cover is screwed on, and it's a flat cell battery. If you don't have a precision screwdriver with you, and the battery dies, you can't take temperatures anymore if you don't have a backup thermometer. Also, cell batteries seem to be the ones that tend to be forgotten at home. And can also be a pain to change.
The reason I mention about the laser, is that it makes it easier to get precise temperatures if you know what spot the temp is being taken from. Lasers allow this to happen. It shows what exact point the temperature is being taken from. After taking all of this into consideration, I give this thermometer 4 out of 5 stars. One thing Actron could do to improve this meter, is to replace the cell battery with one AAA battery, and add a laser to the meter. Yes, it would add bulk to the thermometer, but it would be worth it.
